Packaging that’s Grown Popular Because of the Pandemic

With the pandemic still touching people, a lot are looking for packaging alternatives. There are different ways to protect everything, both internally and externally.

A lot of food places have started to create different means to offer the best takeout and other options. Here are the best types of packaging for you to consider.

Shrink Wrapping

This is one of the easiest for you to get started. In fact, you can start for less than $200 with some systems. It can get you some great results too.

You put the products in, and then, they make a seal. Then, you utilize the heat gun in order to shrink this so that it’s packaged. Cookies, pizzas, and the like benefit from this. Then, you can get the package wrapped in a film that’s crystal clear and displays everything.

If you want to start, you can get a beginner one, and it can wrap up to 200 different products on the daily. You can also upgrade to auto shrink wrapping or semi-auto machines too.

One thing to keep in mind though, is that you do need some vent holes whenever they shrink. Remember this, and keep in mind this doesn’t make the product airtight, it just keep sit around for a bit longer and offers better outward protection.

Overwrapping

This is another unique type of protective packaging element. This is used in meat and butcher shops. A lot of grocery stores also use them with any meats or product that you get.

They wrap the exterior film over the entire product, and then, at the bottom it gets sealed.

This is one that can cost less than $500 for you to purchase. You basically pull this film directly over the product. Once this gets wrapped, then a wire that’s hot will cut the film.

Then, during the last step, they put the tray directly onto a pad to heat this. The pad then shrinks, and it mends the film towards the bottom area of your package. From there, a barcode and price sticker is then placed, making it easier to check out.

It can come in various different levels of thickness, and it’s something that z lot of people like because they can see the packaging on the outside, without harming what’s inside there when they choose this.

Vacuum Packaging

Finally, there is vacuum packaging.

This is a way to create an airtight packaging.  It changes the area where the items are stored, preserving this for a lot longer. Many people can use gas flushing and other commercial sealers in order to keep all of the products much fresher for a bit longer.

Since this packaging does come in rolls, a lot of people may use this. Some prefer to get the barrier bags that are pre-made for this. Basically, you just put the product in there, and then, an airtight seal is created.  You put the bag in the vacuum to suck out the air. Once you’ve formed a seal, then you can insert the product directly into these bags.

The packaging that this creates at the end is more protective and offers a shell that’s stronger while also preserving all of the products that are there. Other contaminants and external parts of this also get prevented from getting inside the bag. One huge downside to this is the too much material that’s used for this. Some of these shrink bags are now helping with the issue, helping to cut down the size, while also offering a better seal for the product.
